The K300 Race Committee decided today to make some adjustments to the upcoming race schedule. The Bogus Creek 150, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 11 will now start on Saturday, February 8. The Holiday Classic, which was postponed last month due to a lack of snow, is now slated for January 11. Registration for the 50 mile race will open on Monday.
While trail conditions have improved recently, the Committee cited concerns about the readiness of some teams for a 150 mile race after a slow start to winter, which has limited training for many local kennels. The current forecast calls for more snow in the Bethel area in the coming week, providing some clear hope that conditions for training and racing will continue to improve.
No schedule changes are expected for the 46th Annual Kuskokwim 300, which is scheduled to start on Friday, January 24.
